Dmitry Kovalchik is Attorney at Law and Head of Real Estate & Construction at SP&P.

Dmitry has more than 10 years’ experience of legal advising in real estate & construction, and specializes in real estate transactions, development, construction and land law.

His professional experience includes legal support for the acquisition and lease of real estate, advising on the legal aspects of new construction and reconstruction of real estate, advising on real estate issues in corporate transactions, drafting and negotiating construction contracts.

Dmitry has extensive experience in advising foreign banks and international financial organizations on project finance and security transactions.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Advising a developer in connection with acquisition of unfinished construction of a hotel complex with a total area of more than 45 thousand square meters in Minsk, and completion of construction. Legal due diligence of the project. Legal support in negotiations with the seller and potential investors.

• Advising a foreign investment company in connection with selection and allocation of a land plot for construction of a specialized complex worth over USD 100 million.

• Legal support of acquisition of an office building in the historic center of Minsk with a transaction price over EUR 3.5 million.

• Advising an international construction company on a construction of a shopping and entertainment complex with a 4-star hotel in Minsk worth over USD 100 million (FIDIC, Silver Book).

• Long term advising and legal support a European bank in connection with trade and project finance in Belarus for a total amount of over EUR 100 million. Representation of the bank in negotiations and transactions. Advising on mortgages and other security.

• Advising one the largest European clothing-retail company in connection with entering Belarusian market and performance of construction works in retail stores in prominent shopping centers of Minsk with an area of more than 4,500 square meters.

• Advising the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on project finance transactions in woodworking and furniture industry.

• Legal support of an investment project in the field of alternative energy. Advising on land plots allotment, permitting documentation and construction contracts.

• Advising an international engineering company in connection with provision of project management services (FIDIC, White Book).
