D.Katkouskaya. Requirements for information about goods and their labelling. // Library of Law Journal "Jurist". law and Business. No1(25), 2009.
Necessary, accurate information conforming to the laws on information about goods (work, services) is one of the main responsibilities of sellers realizing goods to customers. We will consider the general aspects of provision of information about goods (work, services) and issues of appropriate labeling of consumer goods.
Goods labeling is one of the components of informing consumers about goods. Considering the rise in volume of goods sale through self-service shops such as supermarkets, hypermarkets and discounters where there are no consultants, as a rule, correct, full and valid labeling is key source of information about goods.
We should also take into account the high costs of artistic design, model development and mass production of consumer containers or goods packing. Consequently, incorrect and incomplete labeling may bring about, besides having to face administrative responsibility sanctions, considerable expenses connected with changing the packing and correcting the mistakes made.
